Starting a new phase
Amazingly 8 months after Thomas’s initial leukaemia diagnosis he has finally been able to start maintenance, the more gentle chemotherapy which he will have mainly from home (we hope) until May 2023. The cancer is in remission and we hope it stays that way.
It has been such a rocky journey to this place with so many times we had 2 steps forward and 5 steps back.
Yet here we are. Very grateful for the hundreds of medical staff involved in getting him to this point. Consultants, nurses, dieticians, physio to name a few… it is a massive team and it is amazing that he is doing so well and we are back home. Long may it last!
Thank you to all the family and friends helping us along the way. And to everyone who has donated to my crowdfunder for my book. Sorry I’ve not had a chance to thank you personally yet. I will do soon!
